Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition
982 grams, the best keyboard here and a strong Linux story on a current kernel, with two catches: the IPU7 webcam needs kernel 6.13+ and a firmware bug can pin the CPU at 400 MHz.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on fedora. Confidence: high

fedora: Phoronix tested it well on Fedora 42. One firmware bug can stick the CPU at 400 MHz, worked around with the performance ACPI profile until the BIOS fix. Phoronix: X1 Carbon Gen 13 Linux review →
ubuntu-lts: Certified against 24.04 with the OEM kernel. The IPU7 camera needs a very recent kernel plus libcamera, broken on the stock LTS stack.
