How we intend to make money
Status as of 2026-05-19: nothing is monetised yet. No affiliate programme is active. The links here are plain links, they carry no tracking tag, and we earn nothing when you click or buy. This page describes the plan, not a current arrangement, and it says plainly what is and is not live.
The plan
The intent is to fund the site with affiliate links and, later, display ads. We do not run a newsletter, lead generation, or paid placements, and we never will. The plan is to apply to:
- Amazon Associates (per marketplace, geo-routed via OneLink). Not applied for or approved yet.
- EU Linux vendors such as Tuxedo, Slimbook, Framework, and Star Labs, where they run an affiliate or partner programme. We have no relationship with any of them today. We do not sell their hardware and we are not their reseller or partner.
- Display ads later, once traffic supports it. None are running now.
When a programme goes live, this page changes from "planned" to "active" for that programme, with the date, and the affected links start carrying an affiliate tag. Until you read that here, assume every outbound link earns us nothing, because it does not.
What will not change when it does go live
The score is computed from cited data before any link is attached,
so a future payout cannot move the number. Outbound buy links are
already marked and use
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener noreferrer", so they
pass no ranking signal and leak no referrer, today and after a
programme goes live. A future commission would cost you nothing and
would not change the price you pay. That is the design now and it
stays the design then.
Prices
Prices shown are indicative. Where we cannot show a verified live price we show the RRP (advised retail price), clearly labelled, and the real price may be lower at checkout. End-of-life models show a last-seen figure with its date. We never claim a "best price guarantee".
Legal basis
This disclosure follows the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC) and the Dutch Reclamecode. Both require that a commercial relationship be disclosed clearly and not overstated. Stating a commission we do not yet receive would itself be misleading, so we don't.
