HP Spectre x360 14 (2024)
A well-built convertible with a 120 Hz OLED and a UVC webcam that avoids the IPU6 trap. On Linux you tweak the speaker EQ and accept s0ix drain. A reasonable pick if you actually use the 2-in-1 hinge.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on ubuntu LTS. Confidence: high

ubuntu-lts: All-Intel platform so no NVIDIA muxing. The convertible uses a normal UVC webcam, so it dodges the IPU6 mess that hits the XPS line. Speakers want an EasyEffects profile to not sound thin, and s0ix idle drain is the usual Meteor Lake caveat. Touchscreen and pen work under Wayland.
fedora: Fingerprint reader is hit or miss with fprintd depending on the sensor revision. Otherwise a clean Meteor Lake install once you are on kernel 6.8 or newer for the Arc graphics.
