ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU605, 2024)
A 1.91 kg RTX 4090 with a 2.5K 240 Hz OLED and the best Linux tooling story of any gaming laptop here, but the 4090 runs at only 115W and RAM is soldered. About 5 hours on light use.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on arch. Confidence: medium

arch: Covered by the asus-linux.org project: asusctl handles fan curves and the keyboard, supergfxctl drives the Advanced Optimus MUX. NVIDIA proprietary driver required for the 115W RTX 4090. Suspend is reliable on X11, still rough on Wayland with the dGPU. Speaker output needs the ASUS audio quirk applied. The 32 GB is soldered, so buy the capacity you need. asus-linux.org: setup guide →
