Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-72, 2024)
A solid Meteor Lake all-rounder around 850 dollars (approx, configs vary), but plan on a UEFI password dance before some SKUs will even boot a Linux installer.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on ubuntu LTS. Confidence: high

ubuntu-lts: Meteor Lake works on kernel 6.8 or newer. The catch is firmware: some SFG14-72 SKUs ship with a locked BIOS where Secure Boot stays on and the toggle is greyed out until you set a UEFI supervisor password first. Speaker audio sometimes needs the sof-firmware update. There is an OLED option (2880x1800 90Hz) on higher SKUs; this record covers the 1920x1200 IPS panel.
