Apple MacBook Pro 14 (M4)
The best laptop here for battery, screen and quiet performance, and the worst for Linux: Asahi does not support M4 and will not for a while. A 14-hour macOS dev machine from 1599 dollars. If you need Linux on Apple silicon, buy an M1 or M2, not this.

fedora: Asahi Linux does not support M4 as of mid-2026. M1 and M2 are the supported targets, M3 is in progress, M4 bring-up has barely started because Apple firmware changes need fresh reverse engineering. No GPU acceleration, no working Wi-Fi, do not buy this expecting Linux. Run macOS, or buy an M1/M2 if Asahi is the point. Asahi Linux: M4 feature support →
