Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-72, 2024)
A value RTX 4060 gaming 16-inch with a 165 Hz QHD+ panel. Linux runs with the NVIDIA driver, but there is no Linux fan or RGB control and the 90 Wh battery is 4 hours at best. Fine for gaming on Proton; not a Linux productivity machine.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on fedora. Confidence: medium

fedora: Raptor Lake HX plus an RTX 4060, so the NVIDIA proprietary driver is mandatory (akmod-nvidia via RPM Fusion on Fedora) running Optimus hybrid; nouveau will not drive this sanely. No vendor fan/RGB control on Linux: PredatorSense has no Linux equivalent, so fan curves stay on the BIOS default and the per-key RGB is uncontrolled. Speaker audio wants current sof-firmware. s2idle with the dGPU is the standard NVIDIA caveat and the 90 Wh pack is gone in about 4 hours under load. No fingerprint reader on most SKUs.
