System76 Bonobo WS (bonw15)
A 3.3 kg desktop-replacement with an i9-14900HX, mobile RTX 4090 and SO-DIMM RAM to 192 GB, with CUDA preconfigured by System76. The 3-hour battery and 350-nit panel are not the point. Buy it as a portable CUDA box, nothing else.

popos: Ships Pop!_OS or Ubuntu with the NVIDIA proprietary driver preconfigured by System76, so CUDA works on day one, which is the point of this machine. No fingerprint reader by design. RAM is SO-DIMM to 192 GB. Suspend on a desktop-replacement with a 4090 is the usual NVIDIA caveat, and few people sleep a machine like this anyway. It is a portable workstation, not a laptop, the 3.3 kg and 3-hour battery make that plain.
fedora: Fedora with RPM Fusion akmod-nvidia handles the 4090 fine. You give up System76's driver-switching polish but the hardware is standard.
