HP Spectre x360 14 (14-ea0xxx, 2021)
14-ea0xxx, 2021
The 3:2 OLED convertible that made the Spectre x360 14 a cult pick, now around 430 dollars used: a tall 3000x2000 panel, a gem-cut chassis and a UVC webcam that avoids the IPU6 trap.

All-Intel Tiger Lake convertible, so no nvidia muxing. The webcam is plain UVC, which dodges the IPU6 mess that hits the XPS line of the same era.

Intel AX201 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work, the touchscreen and pen run under Wayland. The Elan fingerprint reader needs the elanmoc2 libfprint driver from the AUR until it lands upstream. Speakers want an EasyEffects profile to not sound thin, and s2idle standby drain is the usual Tiger Lake caveat. The 3:2 OLED panel is gorgeous but it is the reason battery is mid-pack.

Clean Tiger Lake install. Same Elan fingerprint and speaker EQ tweaks as Ubuntu, and the same s2idle standby drain on a closed lid.
