Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 (i7-13700H, RTX 4060)
A genuinely clever convertible creator machine with a 120 Hz 3:2 panel and RTX 4060, ruined for this site by Linux: even with linux-surface the camera, audio and sleep break. Windows only, and 1999 dollars for the base.
Compiled from public sources and community data, not hands-on tested. What that means.
Best on ubuntu LTS. Confidence: medium

ubuntu-lts: Surface hardware needs the linux-surface kernel patches to be usable at all, and even then the Studio 2 is one of the worst targets in the lineup: the unusual hinge-and-pull display mechanism, the Surface-specific touch and pen stack, and the NVIDIA dGPU on top of Surface power management all fight Linux. Camera, sleep and audio are the typical breakage. Treat this as a Windows-only creator machine; if you must, follow the linux-surface project and expect to lose features. linux-surface: supported devices and feature matrix →
